FileZilla is a free, graphics based FTP client that turns FTP into a simple drag-and-drop and right-click and select environment. You can download FileZilla from http://filezilla-project.org/download.php.

Once you have FileZilla downloaded and installed, run it. A window will open that will have boxes for your host and login details and a partitioned interface to represent your local content and remote content.

To connect with FileZilla enter the following into the connection fields:

Host: DOMAIN NAME

Username:

Password:

Port: May leave it blank. (Default port 21 is used.)

Click Connect!

Make sure that you upload the HTML files to public_html folder.

When you have successfully connected, you will see on the remote end (right side) that the directory listing will be made. This is the stuff on the web-server, where you should upload to. Your website content, must be copied into the “wwwroot” directory. The local end (left side) is your computer. From here is where you can upload content.

(Remember: Left >> Local, Right >> Remote.) 🙂

To delete files/directories, on local or remote, is very simple. Right click the file or directory you wish to delete, left click delete. You can upload and download by dragging and dropping or by right clicking and selecting the option for the desired task.
