Use your own public IP address. The maximum number of IP addresses that you can specify in the range is 65,536. We recommendthat you keep the allowed IP range as narrow as possible for security reasons<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"610\" height=\"570\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.pheonixsolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/image-4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5901\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pheonixsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/image-4.png 610w, https:\/\/pheonixsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/image-4-300x280.png 300w, https:\/\/pheonixsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/image-4-321x300.png 321w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>8)Check the <strong>Enabled<\/strong> box to enable (or uncheck to disable) this IP address or range.<br>9) Click <strong>Save<\/strong>.<br>10) In the Encryption section, check the <strong>Require TLS encryption<\/strong> box to require that the communication between your server and Google\u2019s server be TLS encrypted, including the message contents.<br><strong>Note<\/strong>: If your email server doesn&#8217;t support TLS, do not check this box. If you check this box, Google rejects messages that are not encrypted.<br>11) Click <strong>Add setting<\/strong> or <strong>Save<\/strong>. Any new settings are added to the Advanced settings page.<br>12) At the bottom, click <strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Setting up a firewall rule to allow outbound traffic on a custom port<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To allow outbound traffic through a custom port, you need to set up a firewall rule. For example, the following steps set up a rule that allows outbound traffic on port 2525. Replace port 2525 with the custom port of your choice. Please find the steps below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In the Google Cloud Console, go to the <strong>Create a firewall rule<\/strong> page.<\/li><li>Choose a name for the firewall rule.<\/li><li>Under <strong>Network<\/strong>, select the network that is hosting the VM instance that you intend to send email messages from.<\/li><li>Under <strong>Direction of traffic<\/strong>, select <strong>Egress<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Under <strong>Targets<\/strong>, choose the appropriate target for this rule. For example, you might choose <strong>Specified target tags<\/strong> if you want the rule to apply to particular instance.<\/li><li>Under <strong>Destination filter<\/strong>, set <code>0.0.0.0\/0<\/code> if you want to allow egress traffic from the VM instance to any destination. If you want to limit the destination, enter another IP range here.<\/li><li>Under <strong>Protocols and ports<\/strong>, select <strong>Specified protocols and ports<\/strong>, select <strong>tcp<\/strong>, and enter <code>2525<\/code>.<\/li><li><strong>Click Create to save your changes.<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Go to the terminal and log in to your server.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1) Search for exim, postfix etc. As we did with exim we will go with the exim configuration.<br>2) open <code>\/etc\/exim\/exim.conf<\/code> and search for \u201cbegin routers\u201d<br>Add the below lines under \u201cbegin routers\u201d<br><strong>send_via_gmail:<\/strong> driver = manualroute domains = ! +local_domains transport = gmail_smtp route_list = * smtp.gmail.com <br>3) Next search for \u201cbegin transport\u201d <br>Add the below lines under \u201cbegin transport\u201d<br> gmail_smtp: driver = smtp port = 587 hosts_require_auth = * hosts_require_tls = * <br>4) Next search for \u201cbegin authenticators\u201d  <br>Add the below lines under \u201cbegin authenticators\u201d <br>gmail_login: driver = plaintext public_name = LOGIN client_send = : user@gmail.com : myPassw0rd <br>Replace the credentials with your actual credentials on the <code>client_send<\/code> line. <br>Restart Exim with the below command <code>service exim restart<\/code> <br>5) Send a mail and check for the mail.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Please find the below steps in configuring the SMTP Gsuite relay service: 1) Disable 2 factor.
