There may be times when you need to apply the server hostname SSL certificate to the cPanel services. The server hostname SSL certificate is needed for secure connections to cPanel services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hostname SSL certificate is applied to these cPanel services:
1) FTP server
2) Exim (SMTP) server
3) Calendar, cPanel, WebDisk, Webmail, and WHM Services
4) Dovecot mail server<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want to change the hostname to some other name ex:- hostname.abc.com then goto
WHM: Networking setup>> Change hostname

After that you need to add a DNS record for the hostname.
ex:- hostname.abc.com A 1.2.3.4

After that goto the following location<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WHM: Home>> Service configuration>> Manage service SSL certificates<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Check all boxes for all the services, then select the ‘Browse Certificates’ button:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Select the hostname SSL certificate that is\u00a0VALID<\/strong>\u00a0from the menu under ‘root’. The below example only shows a self-signed certificate. On your server, locate and use the VALID hostname SSL certificate:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
