Introduction<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apache (also known as httpd) is one of the most widely used web servers globally. In a cPanel\/WHM-managed server environment, ensuring that Apache is running smoothly is essential for website uptime and reliability. WHM’s Service Manager allows system administrators to monitor and manage critical services like Apache with ease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prerequisites<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Root access to WHM <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. WHM\/cPanel is already installed on the server.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Apache is installed and running on your server <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Implementation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Step 1: Log in to WHM

    URL: https:\/\/your-server-ip:2087
    Enter your root username and password<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Step 2. Navigate to Service Manager<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      In WHM\u2019s left sidebar, search for \u201cService Manager\u201d.Alternatively, navigate Home \u00bb Service Configuration \u00bb Service Manager<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Step 3: Locate and Enable Monitoring for Apache Service<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      (i) Search for the service named \u201cApache Web Server\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      (ii) There are two main options in each service:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      a. Monitor: Tells WHM to monitor this service and restart it automatically if it fails.
      b. Enabled: Ensures the service is started when the server boots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      (iii) To monitor Apache:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Check both the boxes for \u201cEnabled\u201d and \u201cMonitor\u201d next to httpd \/ Apache.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      This ensures:
      WHM will automatically restart Apache if it crashes or stops unexpectedly
      Apache will start on boot<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Step 4: Save the changes<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Scroll to the bottom of the Service Manager page and click the \u201cSave\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Once saved, WHM will begin monitoring Apache through its internal monitoring system (usually chkservd)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
