You can upload, download, edit, and delete files easily through this interface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prerequisites<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Before proceeding, ensure you have:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>a. cPanel login access<br>b. Username and password<br>c. You can use either of the options to upload a file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Drag and drop<\/strong> the file from your machine to the interface so that it will start uploading in the selected directory<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> Click on <code><strong>Select File<\/strong><\/code> option to browse and upload a file from your local machine to the selected directory.     <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\"><strong>Note<\/strong>: You can check the <strong>Overwrite existing files<\/strong> box if you want to automatically replace the already existing file with the same name.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>You have successfully uploaded a file using File Manager!!!.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">II. Download a File<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>To download a file from your cPanel server to the local machine, select and open the directory in which the files you want to download is present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, Select the file which you want to download. If you want to download multiple files, select on all the files you want to download. Edit a File<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Before editing a file directly in the File Manager, always ensure to take backup of the original file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now lets see how to edit a file in File Manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>In the File Manager interface opened, select the file which you want to edit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then you will find Edit option on the top. So no need to make any changes in the pop-up window. Directly click on the <code><strong>Edit<\/strong><\/code> button in the bottom of the pop-up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your website uses any other that does not use <strong>UFT-8<\/strong> Encoding, then select the appropriate character encoding and then click on <code><strong>Edit<\/strong><\/code><strong> <\/strong>button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you do not want this pop-up window to open every single time, select the option <strong><code>Disable Encoding Check<\/code><\/strong> option and then click on <strong><code>Edit<\/code><\/strong> button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>On clicking the <strong><code>Edit<\/code><\/strong> button, the Edit window will be opened in which you can make changes to the file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"468\" src=\"https:\/\/pheonixsolutions.com\/knowledge-base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/image-6-1024x468.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-108\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pheonixsolutions.com\/knowledge-base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/image-6-1024x468.png 1024w, https:\/\/pheonixsolutions.com\/knowledge-base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/image-6-300x137.png 300w, https:\/\/pheonixsolutions.com\/knowledge-base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/image-6-768x351.png 768w, https:\/\/pheonixsolutions.com\/knowledge-base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/image-6-150x69.png 150w, https:\/\/pheonixsolutions.com\/knowledge-base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/image-6.png 1366w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Edit the file and once all the changes were made, click on <strong><code>Save Changes<\/code><\/strong> button to save the file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You have successfully edited a file in File Manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">IV. Delete a File<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, let us see how to delete files in your cPanel server from the cPanel File Manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>In the File Manager interface, Select the file you want to delete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, you can find the option Delete on the top. It will move the file to <strong>Trash<\/strong> from which you can recover the file later if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The file will be deleted on clicking the <strong><code>Confirm<\/code><\/strong> button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You have successfully deleted a file in your File Manager!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>cPanel File Manager makes it easy to manage files directly from the browser.
